Linklaters has bulked up its French capital markets team with the hire of a partner and three associates from Gide Loyrette Nouel.
Patrice Doat joins Linklaters’ Paris office as a partner. He had previously spent seven years as a partner at Gide.
Doat is the second corporate partner to leave Gide this year, following the April 2011 hire of Hugues Mathez by White & Case.
Linklaters has also suffered partner losses in the past 12 months, after the sudden death of M&A star Thierry Vassogne in January and the more recent departure of banking partner Arnaud Fromion to Shearman & Sterling earlier this month.
Doat specialises in securitisation and structured projects. He said he was looking forward to working in “a truly globally minded environment”.
