Former McDermott partner joins Davenport Lyons

West End firm Davenport Lyons has hired financial regulatory partner Abesh Choudhury, who was formerly at McDermott Will and Emery.

Choudhury transferred to McDermott as a partner in July 2008 from Dewey & LeBoeuf’s financial services regulatory team, where he was a counsel. He left McDermott a year later and has spent the last year working with his family business.

He is joined by litigator Nicholas Yapp, who moves to Davenport Lyons from Crawford Solicitors.

“We are delighted to welcome Abesh and Nicholas to the firm,” said Davenport Lyons business group head Michael Hatchwell.

“Their experience complements the established specialisms in Davenport Lyons’ existing banking and dispute resolution teams and we look forward to applying their expertise, to the benefit of our wide portfolio of clients.”
