SJ Berwin has broadened the managerial lineup for its real estate group, as part of the firm’s efforts to line up its practice management structure with King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) ahead of the planned merger next Friday (1 November).
Partner William Boss will become co-head of the London real estate group with immediate effect alongside incumbent Simon Ricketts.
Meanwhile, partner Bryan Pickup, the firm’s international head of real estate, will continue his leadership role but is to focus on the integration and liaison with the global practice and sector groups of the merged firm.
The firm has also created two new international real estate sector group head positions, which will be shared between London-based partner Edward Page and Madrid-based Enrique Isla. The appointments are effective immediately.
Managing partner Rob Day said that the changes were due to the continued growth of the firm’s real estate group and also the effort of aligning its practice management structure with King & Wood Mallesons, with which it will merge on 1 November (31 July 2013).
