McDermott Will & Emery has taken a team of five partners and an associate from Washington DC firm Carr Goodson Warner.
Partners Margaret Warner, Miller Baker, Mark Collins, Gregory Krauss, James Rizzo and Peter Tompa, who are known for their work in litigation, have joined McDermotts’ trial department in Washington.
The team has worked on cases ranging from insurance coverage to political and constitutional litigation and has a specialist knowledge of scientific and environmental issues.
Carr Goodson is a small firm where litigation practice is highly specialised. At McDermotts the partners will be able to diversify and offer their clients a broader range of legal services.
The move boosts the Washington litigation department which already has just over one third of the firm’s 840 attorneys.
Head of the Washington office Timothy Waters says: “They bring a wealth of experience in the area of complex litigation.”
