Much of Britain might be under water at present, but on the South Coast a little ray of sunshine has crept through the clouds.
The decision by communities secretary Hazel Blears to approve the ground follows two public inquiries and a quashed government decision, and is welcome news for local footie fans including Fatboy Slim, whose record label Skint is the club sponsor.
Naturally enough, the development is also good news for DMH, which has not only done the legal work on the application, but the planning too.
But for partner Tony Allen, the relationship is purely a professional one.
“I suppose I’m meant to say I support Brighton,” he told The Lawyer, “but I’m not really a football fan.”
