Lawrence Graham is reviewing its network of European law firms, Associated Business Lawyers in Europe (Able).
Martyn Gowar, senior partner of Lawrence Graham, says: “We are reviewing our relationship and will be reporting to our firms in due course.”
The London law firm has drafted in a management consultancy to prepare a report on the future of the association.
The management consultancy was selected in a beauty parade which was held earlier this year. The consultancy is set to deliver the report in October.
Gowar says the review will depend on the findings of the report. He says: “At the moment it's so up in the air.”
Lawrence Graham is the Able London link, together with Alzaga Caro Maranan Sanchez-Teran & Asociados in Madrid, Esche Schumann Commichau in Hamburg, Geater & Co in Brussels, Gedda & Ekdahl in Stockholm, Lafarge Flechelz Chambaz in Paris and Schut & Grosheide in Amsterdam.
They are joined by Puopolo Sistilli Geffers & Luise in Rome, Milan, Naples and New York.
Able was set up by Lawrence Graham as a network of independent law firms to provide an integrated and commercially oriented legal service.
The network, which is based on professional and personal ties, also offers a referral service to clients dealing outside its reach.
