Norton Rose has transferred London banking partner Caroline Hurley to Moscow to head its Russian banking practice.
Hurley will focus on finance deals in the energy sector, specialising in oil and gas. She has been a partner at the firm since 1998.
“My particular banking and energy mix of experience will be put to good use in the current economic climate,” said Hurley. “We have some excellent partners in Moscow, with a wide range of contacts in the Russian banks and businesses.”
Last year Norton Rose relocated corporate partner Andrei Yakovlev from London to Moscow to increase partner numbers in the office to seven.
The move comes as Berwin Leighton Paisner launches in Moscow, taking 70 lawyers from local firm Pepeliaev Goltsblat & Partners.
