Norton Rose banking head to be next chair” />Norton Rose has handed banking head Stephen Parish (pictured) the role of chairman following a contested election.
Parish beat Middle East managing partner Campbell Steedman in a partnership vote, and will take over from current chairman Paul Giles at the start of May.
Norton Rose chief executive Peter Martyr said: “Stephen is a Norton Rose man through and through. He’s a very nice, steady guy and well-known generally throughout the partnership.”
Norton Rose created the role of chairman in 2002 as part of a revamp of corporate governance structure.
Parish will be the firm’s second chairman. Giles has served two terms, the second of which started in 2006, the same year that Parish became global banking head.
