Pinsents is first to establish client services partner role

Pinsent Curtis has created what is believed to be the first partner post specifically responsible for client services.

It has hired former Morgan Stanley vice-president and in-house counsel Jenny Parker to take up the post.

Parker, currently on holiday in the US, will quit legal practice to fully devote her time to ensuring client services.

London managing partner Graeme Brister said: “As a lawyer with four years experience of providing legal services at Freshfields, and four-and-a-half years of buying those services in at Morgan Stanley, she has unique skills. We want to make ourselves and our client service as excellent as possible. Jenny will be helping us to win and keep clients”

Anne Marie Stubbings, director of marketing at Simmons & Simmons, said: “Other firms have taken steps to ensure that client care is undertaken, but I think this move by Pinsents is a first. Client care has become critically important.”

On 1 May, Pinsent Curtis will appoint Price Waterhouse partner Stephen Hancock as finance director, and former Linklaters & Paines solicitor Craig Hope recently joined the firm as a partner in its litigation department.
