Sackers and Wragges launch tit-for-tat raids

Sacker & Partners and Wragge & Co have undergone a mutual recruitment drive, with each poaching lawyers from the other’s pensions team.

Former Sackers partner Jane Kola has joined Wragges as director of pensions in the firm’s London office.

“Jane’s arrival has made a big difference,” said head of pensions Glyn Ryland.

At the same time pensions assistant Andrea Bull has moved from Wragges to Sackers.

“We felt she would work well with us. The chemistry was good,” said senior partner Ian Pittaway.

Ryland said another three lawyers will join Wragges’ London office by the end of the year. Newly qualified assistants Ian Curry and Amy Aldridge will start later this month with the former joining from Allen & Overy, while the latter comes from DLA Piper.

In November senior associate Ben Blunsdon will rejoin the firm after a year travelling the world.

Pittaway said pensions boutique Sackers has also been on a recruitment drive with Bull the fourth appointment this year, while another lawyer is expected to join in the coming months.
