Sherrards has boosted its London ­corporate presence with the appointment of Keith Robinson as head of corporate finance. Robinson joins from DMH Stallard, where he was partner at the London office.

Over a 35-year City career he has advised a wide range of companies on listings on the AIM, PLUS and main stock exchange list, as well as overseas placements. Charles Russell has hired Baker & McKenzie associate Michael Jones as a senior associate to co-head its City pensions practice, alongside ­current pensions chief partner Caoimhe O’Neill.

Swiss Re senior UK transaction counsel Stuart Brown has joined Norton Rose’s City office as a consultant in its insurance practice.

Media and technology associate Tom Harding has joined the London digital business team at Osborne Clarke. He joins from Olswang.

Memery Crystal has made a quartet of new appointments, boosting its corporate, litigation and projects teams. Caitlin Malloy joins as ­corporate assistant from Cripps Harries Hall, while Wendy Saunders and Stephanie Thein join the dispute resolution department as assistants from the FSA and Simmons & Simmons ­respectively. Finally, New Zealand-qualified Michelle Yardley teams up with the oil and gas group, joining from the OFT.

Commercial City firm Royds Solicitors has promoted two lawyers to its senior associate ranks. Helen Murphie will work in the employment group while Deanna Hurst will boost the firm’s private client offering.


South West firm Ashfords has named Helen Jones as a partner and head of its Bristol education team. Jones was previously legal chief at the  Girls’ Day School Trust, the largest group of independent schools in the

UK. She previously worked at Herbert Smith.

Rix & Kay Solicitors has hired Tristram Moore, ­commercial partner and head of sports at Clifton Ingram, as a ­partner in its Brighton-based commercial and business team.



Shakespeare Putsman has hired the head of Irwin Mitchell’s Birmingham insolvency and corporate recovery team Andrew Taylor to lead its banking, restructuring and insolvency practice.

Midlands firm Harvey Ingram has expanded its Birmingham operation with two new partner hires. Clarke Willmott partner Andrew ­Breakwell has joined to head the family law team, while George Green partner Simon Vaile has been added to the trusts and probate practice.


Eversheds has hired associate Kirsty Stewart from Bell & Scott to work in the firm’s Edinburgh real estate litigation team. Stewart is dual-­qualified in English and Scottish law.

Aberdeen firm Ledingham Chalmers has promoted three of its solicitors – Erica Buchan, Nicola Reid and Rebecca Riddell – to associate.


NHS fraud expert Mark Heath has joined North East firm Ward Hadaway as a partner. Heath, who has devised money saving anti-fraud initiatives for the NHS, joins from Watson Burton, where he was also partner.

Addleshaw Goddard real estate partner Dean Copley has joined HBJ Gateley Wareing, ­becoming the firm’s first lateral partner hire in

its new Manchester office. The Manchester real estate team now boasts more than 30 lawyers.

Insurance boutique Everatt & Company has hired former Eversheds partner and industrial ­disease specialist Alan Simpson as a partner in

its Manchester office.

Stephenson Harwood has made two new partner appointments in its Hong Kong litigation group. Karen To has joined from Baker & McKenzie, where she was a partner, construction partner Gilbert Kwok has moved from Li & ­Partners, where he was also a partner.

Norton Rose has named Linklaters counsel Anna Tipping as a corporate partner in its ­Singapore office and head of its Asian insurance business.


Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has recruited  former Ernst & Young senior deputy general counsel and head of litigation Robert Cohen as a partner in its New York securities ­litigation practice.

Nixon Peabody has hired K&L Gates senior associate Amiel Weinstock as a counsel in its Boston private clients group.
