Employment alliance Ius Laboris targets South America with two new additions

International employment alliance Ius Laboris is targeting growth in South America with the addition of Funes de Rioja & Asociados and Mesquita Barros Ad-vogados.
Funes de Rioja of Argentina and Mesquita Barros of Brazil are niche firms specialising in employment, labour and benefits law.
They join Ius Laboris just two months after US firm Seyfarth Shaw joined the alliance. The network now has a total of 12 member firms including Jaques Barthélémy & Associés of France, Claeys & Engels of Belgium and Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw. Rowe & Maw joined last year and has remained the UK member following its link-up with Mayer Brown & Platt.
Mesquita Barros, founding partner of Mesquita Barros, said: “Brazil is the world’s eighth largest economy with an increasingly sophisticated market. It is currently undergoing the world’s largest privatisation programme with a tremendous amount of foreign investment being poured in. The privatised companies, the numerous multinationals and the Brazilian companies who are looking overseas need experienced international legal advice.”
