British Telecom, Mercury and Colt Telecom will all be bidding for the Lincoln's Inn telecommunications project in the next few weeks.
The first stage of the project, which involved the installation of two kilometres of ducting for the fibre optic cables was carried out during August and September and cost nearly £10,000.
David Corsellis, assistant under-treasurer at Lincoln's Inn, said: "We want to be able to offer our tenants state of the art telecommunications and data facilities including full access to the Internet and video conferencing facilities."
The project, which is scheduled to be completed within the next six months, will be compatible with the Bar Council's plan to set up a communications network of barristers across the country.
