Ashurst to restock US securities group with two ex-Linklaters lawyers

Ashurst has re-staffed its US securities team following last month’s exit of a trio of partners with the hire of two former Linklaters partners.

Corporate and capital markets partner Ray Fisher has joined the City firm direct from Linklaters’ New York office. Additionally, securities partner Jennifer Schneck has also bolstered the practice. Schneck left Linklaters’ London office in 2009.

Fisher led Linklaters’ New York capital markets group and was co-head of the firm’s Latin American practice.

Ashurst senior partner Charlie Geffen said: “Recruiting partners of the calibre of Ray and Jennifer will be a significant boost to our capital markets team. Ashurst’s capital markets practice has been going from strength to strength in London and in Europe, particularly in Germany and in Hong Kong. We are excited about the broader capability that we will have to offer our clients with Jennifer and Ray on board.”

US  securities partners Daniel Bushner, Eric Stuart and Marie Elena Angulo left Ashurst in March. It is understood that the trio are currently in talks to join Jones Day.
