Wiggin associates get partner alternative

Media boutique Wiggin has created an alternative to partnership, putting in place a senior associate role.

The firm has promoted three associates to the new position. Litigation lawyers Amali de Silva and Anna Doble, along with film specialist Katherine Otway, are the first to become senior associates.

Wiggin partner Caroline Kean said: “Recognising that partnership is no longer automatically the goal for all solicitors has led us to create the senior associate role.

“The role allows colleagues to pursue a career within the firm without having to present a business case for partnership.”

The new senior associates will sit with partners on management committees, but are on a different remuneration structure. The salary package will be tailored according to any flexible working arrangements the senior associate may have.
