White & Case taps Bakers for emerging markets push

White & Case has expanded further its capital markets London team with a partner hire from Baker & McKenzie.

The appointment of merging markets specialist Carter Brod furthers White & Case’s strategic plan to develop its capital markets team in the UK.

White & Case capital markets partner Tim Jeveons said: “The emerging markets continue to be characterised by rapid growth and innovation and we’re seeing increasing activity in both the debt and equity capital markets across all emerging market jurisdictions.”

Last week (28 June) The Lawyer reported that White & Case had made a triple hire into its capital markets group, raiding Allen & Overy, Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Jeveon said: “We’re expanding our emerging markets resources at partner level in order to meet time-critical demands of our clients, who are becoming ever-more active in these regions.”
