Connell joins Speechly alongside Travers Smith restructuring specialist Keith Bordell. Bordell previously headed Travers’ corporate recovery team.

Speechly’s corporate recovery and restructuring head Christopher Harlowe said the duo would “significantly enhance” the team’s capabilities.

A number of former BLG partners have turned up at new firms as the firm’s merger with Clyde & Co went live this week. Non-contentious energy partner Humphrey Douglas joined SNR Denton, Hogan Lovells hired litigator Patric McGonigal for its Tokyo office, and Edwards Wildman hired restructuring and insolvency head Jon Yorke (1 November 2011).

Berwin Leighton Paisner (28 October 2011) and Reynolds Porter Chamberlain (27 October 2011) are other firms to have hired departing BLG partners.
