Consultant Jeremy Scholes has more than 30 years’ experience of all aspects of competition law (including cartel investigations and other dealings on behavioural issues with enforcement agencies, merger notifications, litigation, complaints to enforcement agencies, advisory work of all types and compliance programmes) and EU law (litigation and lobbying in the UK and in Brussels) across a range of sectors of the economy.

He qualified at Freshfields and was for several years a partner in Eversheds (where he set up and led the competition law practice in the UK) before joining Walker Morris as a consultant in 1998. He is also a part-time law lecturer at City University London and is the co-author of a number of leading reference books.

Scholes has been rated for many years in the Legal 500 and the Chambers Guide as a leading regional expert in competition and EU law. Comments from clients have included: ‘good commercial, practical, robust advice’: ‘extremely knowledgeable of his subject area’; and ‘aware that clients work to budgets and tries hard to minimise cost’.  He has been treated by a High Court costs judge as the equivalent of a QC.
