Pinsents brings in Camerons outsourcing specialist

Pinsent Masons has added a partner to its outsourcing practice, hiring Garfield Smith from CMS Cameron McKenna.

Outsourcing specialist Smith was a senior associate at Camerons but joins Pinsents as a partner.

In Smith’s place Camerons has promoted associate Yuban Moodley to the partnership in the technology, media and telecoms (TMT) group.

Smith becomes the second senior lawyer to leave the TMT group after department chief David Roberts left to join Fujitsu Services.

Smith specialises in HR and financial services outsourcing. At Pinsents he will work with partners Angela Cha, John Salmon and Simon Pigden to develop the practice.

Pinsents head of technology Clive Seddon said the group would target outsourcing deals in the financial services sector.

A spokesperson for Camerons said the firm wishes Smith well in his new job.
