Ogier's total staff number has shrunk year-on-year as a result of the firm's decision to offload its fiduciary business to Electra Partners in a management buyout in February.
However fee-earner, lawyer and partner numbers have all risen between 2013 and 2014.
An increase in the number of female partners means Ogier now has a female partnership proportion of 20 per cent, while its partner to associate ratio dropped slightly, from 1:3.1 in 2013 to 1:2.7 last year.
The firm made two sets of partner promotions during the year. In January funds lawyer Shameer Jasani became a partner in Cayman, while Ray Ng was appointed as a partner and head of litigation for the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and Asia. In October finance lawyers Fabien Debroise in Luxembourg and Bruce MacNeil in Jersey, as well as Jersey funds specialist Niamh Lalor, joined the partnership. Ogier also hired Mourant Ozannes managing associate Matthew Shaxson as a partner in its Jersey funds team and OPF Partners' Caroline Bormans in Luxembourg.
Early in the year Ogier said it had hired six paralegals on a 12-month contract with a view to offering them training contracts.
Other strategic moves included launching a litigation team in Hong Kong. The firm did not provide financial information, but said it grew its profits last year.
In the coming year Ogier is planning to launch a tax team and continue to expand its Asian litigation offering.
