Macfarlanes makes up nine in record promos round

Macfarlanes has made up nine lawyers to partner in its largest-ever round of promotions, across a range of practice areas including corporate, funds and financial services.

The six men and three women promoted include five lawyers who trained at Macfarlanes.

Macfarlanes’ previous high in terms of the number of new partners was six in 2005 (4 April 2005). Last year the firm promoted four lawyers to partner (8 April 2013).

The promotions include two new partners for each of the M&A and financial services regulatory teams.

The firm has also promoted four associates to senior counsel.

Senior partner Charles Martin said the promotions showed the firm’s confidence in its long-term prospects.
