LG raid sees fifth partner loss for Faegre this year

LG raid sees fifth partner loss for Faegre this yearUS firm Faegre & Benson’s London office has been raided for the fifth time this year, with LG recruiting corporate real estate partner Malcolm Headley.

Headley, like the four partners to leave before him, joined Faegre through the US firm’s merger with Hobson Audley in 2003. Headley’s departure leaves just four Hobson Audley lawyers in the Faegre partnership.

Headley, who would not comment on his reasons for leaving Faegre, said: “LG offers not only a leading real estate practice and the support which that provides, but also a strong corporate base from which I can further develop my practice.”

LG managing partner Hugh Maule said: “Our corporate and real estate services are key to the needs of our clients and Malcolm brings a broad skill set and experience that complements that focus.”

As first reported by The Lawyer (10 March), Fox Williams hired real estate partner Simon Smith and corporate partner Paul Taylor, while Charles Russell enticed corporate finance partner Edward Hoare from Faegre. Max Audley, co-founder of Hobson Audley, joined Olswang in February.

Faegre London managing partner Gerald Hobson confirmed ;Headley’s departure and wished him well for the future.
