Field Fisher advises on purchase of Fergie’s IP assets

Corporate partner Anthony Brockbank led the Field Fisher team acting for its AIM client on the £17m deal, which will allow the filmmakers to enter into a joint venture with children’s entertainment group National Geographic Kids Entertainment.

Along with Sarah Ferguson’s intellectual property, which includes two children’s books, one of which is about a little girl preparing to meet the Queen, Handmade will also acquire the US cartoon studio Animation Collective.

Charles Russell, led by corporate partner Adrian Mayer, acted as adviser to the transaction’s broker Canaccord Adams.

National Geographic was advised by Covington & Burling and Ferguson was advised by Charles Russell.

Also on AIM, Dominic Gurney-Champion led a Field Fisher team acting for nominated adviser FinnCap on last week’s flotation of estate agent Winkworth.

The £1m listing will raise money to allow the company to take advantage of the tentative upturn in the UK housing market.

A Nabarro team led by corporate partner Martin Finnegan acted for M Winkworth, the holding company for the estate agent.
