Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy’s European offices are on the move, with the London and Frankfurt teams relocating to bigger premises in 2006.
Milbank’s London operation will move to 10 Gresham Street from the summer, occupying 30,000sq ft over one floor. The new office is 50 per cent bigger than its current home at Dashwood House, 69 Old Broad Street.
European managing partner Phillip Fletcher signed the lease in the last weeks of December. He declined to comment on whether the firm has secured a rent-free period, but said he was pleased with the deal.
The Frankfurt team is also upsizing and has signed a new lease for 10,000sq ft of office space on Taunusanlage, giving it an extra 30 per cent capacity. The street is also home to Bird & Bird and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. The nine-lawyer team is set to move in during the second quarter of the year.
The relocations mark a hat-trick of moves for Milbank’s European operations over the past 12 months, with its 10-lawyer Munich team moving to Maximilianstrasse in 2005.
