Three TKB lawyers to join rival

THREE construction lawyers from Turner Kenneth Brown are defecting to City firm Taylor Joynson Garrett.

The three include partners Peter Smith and Giles Dixon, TKB's construction department head, who join TJG as partners in January. An assistant is also leaving.

TJG managing partner Richard Pertwee says: “They bring entirely complementary contacts and experience to our construction team.

“Giles brings Middle Eastern clients that fit with our Middle Eastern network of clients.”

The TJG core construction team will continue to be led by partner Neil White.

The appointments fit into TJG's partnership strategy for non-organic growth of departments, says Pertwee.

The moves come after Eileen Carroll, another leading TKB partner, left to join law firm Howard Kennedy's international department several weeks ago after 12 years at TKB.

Carroll is a founding director of the Centre for Dispute Resolution and focuses on US and insurance clients.

TKB managing partner Jim Edmondson was unavailable for comment.
