Press go rabid for Mourinho sound bite

Last week Lawyer News Daily asked who was acting for Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s dog Leya. And the result was so amusing that the tail (arf, arf) needs telling again for those who may have missed it.

Elizabeth Robertson, a partner at Peters & Peters, scooped the most prized mandate in the sports world when she braved the public eye to represent Mourinho and his dog, answering complaints from the Animal Health and Welfare Services that the puppy had travelled from Portugal to London without receiving the proper vaccinations for rabies.

Robertson said: “The strangest bit was when the press was chasing me asking, ‘Where’s the dog? Where’s the dog?'”What? Stranger than representing a dog?Robertson accompanied the dog to Heathrow, where she (Leya) was subjected to a quick check-up and then escorted to a plane back to Portugal.

Unfortunately, Peters & Peters will lose its football manager’s dog dispute practice when Robertson leaves for Addleshaw Goddard in September.Get the latest news and an irreverent commentary delivered to your desktop every day by subscribing to Lawyer News Daily.
