Simmons & Simmons is being very naughty. We’re all for going green, but the City firm has been spinning a little too much in its latest release. It’s claiming to be the first international law firm to go carbon-neutral.
Let’s hope managing partner Mark Dawkins doesn’t pursue that line too much. It’s rather offended SJ Berwin, which went carbon-neutral five years ago and has been busy planting thousands of trees all over the UK. “We’ve taken great umbrage at this,” says a source at SJ Berwin.
Given that the two firms use the same consultancy, the Carbon Neutral Company, you’d think Simmons might have checked first. Doh!
