    Martineau Johnson did not promote anyone internally in 2006-07 after three promotions in 2005-06. Instead the firm made four lateral hires in the same period and has made three so far this financial year. While these have all been in Birmingham, in January the firm moved to larger offices in London and revealed a plan to double its 50-lawyer City team.
