Bristol-based TLT Solicitors has hired a new head of financial services regulation and a specialist compliance lawyer.
New financial services regulation head Suzanne MacDonald joins from Abbey, where she was the senior commercial lawyer. She will be based at the firm’s London office.
Compliance specialist Dan Jenkinson, a qualified barrister, joins from his own compliance consultancy, Compliance Rules. His most recent client was Axa Life, which is also a TLT client. He will be based in TLT’s Bristol headquarters.
The two will provide a range of regulatory advice, although MacDonald has expertise in mortgage regulation and Jenkinson specialises in the life and pensions sector.
TLT head of financial services Richard Waller said: “Suzanne will bolster our offering to the residential mortgage industry, while we know Dan’s expertise from encounters with him in the Bristol legal world, including shared clients.”
The firm’s London office launched in April 2005 via a merger with £3m-turnover banking boutique Lawrence Jones. The office focuses on banking and finance. It won client DB Mortgages, Deutsche Bank’s residential mortgage arm, in December 2006.
TLT promoted four associates to the partnership on 1 May: Neil Waller and Richard McBride in banking and asset finance; Maria Connolly in real estate; and Philip Alfandary in corporate tax.
