McNeive Solicitors and the London-based partners of UK entertainment firm Lewis Davis Shapiro & Lewit have merged to create a new media, entertainment and technology firm called Smiths.
The new three-partner firm features internet expert Liam McNeive and music specialists Andrew Lewis and Paul Jones. The three met when McNeive was negotiating a record deal for client Friends Reunited.
Both Lewis and Jones are experienced music specialists, having worked in both private practice and industry. Lewis was most recently with Island Records in New York and was previously at Clintons. Jones was formerly at Polydor and Lee & Thompson. The pair act for both companies and artists, including Universal and Ms Dynamite.
McNeive said there was an “obvious rationale” in combining his online work with a music industry firm. “That’s where the music industry’s going – and very fast,” he said.
