Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft has lost another lawyer from its New York capital markets practice following the departure of a two partner team to Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe last month.
Former associate Stan Renas joins Linklaters as a partner in its US structured finance and derivatives practice in New York. He is the fourth partner to join the group since it started in 2004.
Global head of capital markets Nick Eastwell, said the firm’s clients were “eager to benefit” from Linklaters’ integrated structured finance and derivatives expertise on both US and cross-border transactions. “Stan’s experience, particularly with collateralised loan obligations, and in insurance product transactions and off-balance sheet financings, will increase the versatility of our team and build on our capacity to deliver excellent service,” he added.
Cadwalader has suffered a series of departures from its New York capital markets group in recent weeks. As first reported by The Lawyer (28 June) partners James Croke and Peter Manbeck have moved to Orrick joined by of counsel Sharad Samy and a group of associates.
