It is like having an army armed with sticks going up against an army with real guns, something the super-rich are well aware of and know how to exploit to the full. All for a starting salary dwarfed by the private sector equivalent, and no prospect of partnership? It neither surprises me that the SFO struggles to recruit or perform, and it is a measure of how seriously government takes the issue of fraud that it is not willing to devote any serious resources to prosecuting or investigating it.
