Finch quits Linklaters to take the helm at Liberty

Linklaters property partner Sir Robert Finch is leaving the firm once more, this time to take-up the role of chairman of Liberty International, the FTSE 100 shopping centre company.

Finch rejoined Linklaters in February after serving as Lord Mayor of the City of London during 2004. However, he will now officially retire from the firm’s partnership on 1 July following his appointment this morning as chairman of Liberty International.

The announcement follows his appointment to the property investor’s board as a non-executive director in March. He replaces Donald Gordon as chairman who is retiring from the post at the end of June.

Finch’s appointment has been speculated since March, however was complicated by potential conflicts of interest created by his role at Linklaters.
