(Don Guiney) is advising Barclays Capital and HSBC as lead arrangers on a €10bn (£6.78bn) covered bond programme for Northern Rock. Dundas & Wilson advised the lead arrangers on Scottish law elements. Allen & Overy and Tods Murray advised Northern Rock.

Latham & Watkins (Brett Cassidy) advised TeleColumbus on the issue of €245m (£166.1m) of floating-rate senior notes, due in 2010, and an additional €230m (£155.9m) of senior subordinated notes, due in 2012. Shearman & Sterling advised Merrill Lynch as sole bookrunner and HVB Corporates & Markets as joint lead manager.

Allen & Overy (Calvin Walker) acted for ABN Amro and BNP Paribas as lead arrangers on a $300m (£169.8m) borrowing base acquisition facility to Tullow Oil to part finance its acquisition of Energy Africa. Norton Rose advised Tullow, while Ashurst acted for ABN Amro.

Uría & Ménéndez (David G Ochoa) represented Banco Santander Central Hispano as lead manager, and Union Fenosa Distribucion and Union Fenosa Comercial as originators, on the issue of €202m (£136.9m) of securitisation notes on the back of electricity supply services.

Ashurst (Paul Stewart) acted for the Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of Scotland and AIB on the refinancing and recapitalisation of Global Refund. SJ Berwin (Raji Bartlett) advised investor Apax and Global Refund.

Taylor Wessing (Hamid Yunis) advised the Bouygues Education Consortium, consisting of Bouygues (UK), Ecovert FM and Barclays European Infrastructure Fund, on the £47m PFI for Barking & Dagenham Schools. Finance was provided by Barclays European Infrastructure Fund, while the senior debt was provided by NIB Capital Bank and Dexia Credit Local, represented by Pinsents. Eversheds acted for the Barking & Dagenham local authority .
