Ding dong, Avon calling

Cosmetics company Avon is adding legal services to the list of beauty products on offer from its door-to-door salesmen.

Customers across Canada will be offered the opportunity to hire an Avon-approved lawyer in addition to a range of beauty products.
The service, named My Advantage, is set to begin in the New Year in Canada only.
Agreements with Avon-approved law firms across the country have not yet been finalised, but according to an interview in Canada's National Post, many of the firms have already agreed to free initial consultations.

“Women trust Avon, so if we can offer a group of services and companies to them, they will feel comfortable going to them”
Roberta Lacey, Avon

The cosmetics company is considering charging a membership fee to customers for the plan. Roberta Lacey, spokeswoman for Avon Canada, said: “Women trust Avon, so if we can offer a group of services and companies to them, they will feel comfortable going to them because they know they have been screened by us.”
The company will also be offering services such as accountancy, plumbing and insurance.
