Clifford Chance appoints new global tax head

The global law firm, which became the largest in the world when it merged with Rogers & Wells and Punder Volhard Weber & Axster on January 1, has tasked de Vos with presiding over the tax groups in central Europe, the US and Asia.

De Vos joined Clifford Chance Amsterdam in 1990, becoming partner a year later. He specialises mainly in securitisations and repackaging and in corporate restructuring.

He says: “Our size is an advantage: it allows us to link with product and industry groups while at the same time providing the variety of experience and training that is necessary to be able to give good tax advice.”
