B&M scoops EY Law quartet for Bologna expansion

Baker & McKenzie has expanded its Bologna office, taking four lawyers from EY Law.

Commercial partner and the former head of EY Law’s Bologna office Gianvincenzo Lucchini joins Baker & McKenzie alongside three associates. He specialises in advising clients on outsourcing and distribution networks.

Baker & McKenzie first secured capability in Bologna after the 2002 merger with Studio Bernini.

The hires follow a period of strategic overhaul at EY Law in Italy. The review was launched in 2002 and overseen by managing partner Francesco Marotta, in response to Sarbanes Oxley. It has seen the closure of several offices, the realignment of practice areas and the departure of around 50 lawyers.
