Berrymans elects new senior partner

Berrymans Lace Mawer senior partner Paul Taylor is stepping down after 14 years at the helm of the insurance heavyweight, to be replaced by Terry Renouf.

Executive board member Renouf was elected to the role and will take up office on 1 April 2006. He praised Taylor’s leadership, and said that he would maintain Berrymans’ focus on insurance work.

Although Taylor is retiring from full-time practice, he will continue to do consultancy work for the firm, including the development of Berrymans’ international construction practice.

Last year Berrymans turned over £40.2m with average profit per equity partner of £180,000, having recovered from a difficult few years in the late 1990s.
