Birmingham-based firm Wragge & Co has teamed up with The College of Law to launch a bespoke LPC plus course from next year.

Thirty students will be enrolled in the new programme, studying a commercial-focused syllabus. Alongside compulsory modules firm trainees will take electives in litigation, corporate and real estate.

Wragges is the latest in a line of firms to team up with law schools for LPC programmes. As previously reported in The Lawyer (1 October 2007), SJ Berwin struck a deal with BPP Law School that will see all its future trainees study at the new private sector law school.

In the north west, as of 2009 Cobbetts will be running a similar scheme with College of Law Chester, based upon six seats. Rival Halliwells will also be running a similar venture.
