Wolf Theiss has advised the Polish state-owned company Towarzystwo Finansowe “Silesia” sp. z o.o. on the acquisition of the majority stake in Fabryka Kotłów SEFAKO S.A., a leading Polish manufacturer of boilers for the power industry. TF Silesia, which invests in Polish industrial companies in the steel, power and manufacturing sectors, bought a majority stake in Fabryka Kotłów SEFAKO S.A., based in Sędziszów, southern Poland, from the state fund MARS Fundusz Inwestycyjny Zamknięty. The transaction was completed on 15 March 2018 after obtaining competition clearance from the Polish antimonopoly office. “We very much appreciate that TF Silesia turned to Wolf Theiss to provide them with advisory services related to the acquisition of the SEFAKO stake. The SEFAKO acquisition and other M&A transactions completed by Wolf Theiss lawyers over the course of the last year confirm our leading M&A role in the Polish market,” said Dariusz Harbaty, counsel at Wolf Theiss Warsaw, who led the transaction team. “We look forward to continuing to take on M&A clients in 2018 and providing them with the high quality of service that Wolf Theiss is known for throughout the CEE region.” In addition to Dariusz Harbaty, the Wolf Theiss team included lawyers Joanna Wajdzik, Anna Nowodworska and Monika Gaczkowska.
