The Smarter Working Week explores the different ways legal functions are becoming smarter about the work they do, how they do it and why – a place where in-house teams can share practical advice and best practice.

What does it take to create a legal function from scratch? Finding yourself in a position where you have both the freedom and the pressure of designing a legal function that is robust and integral to the business can be daunting.

So if you are currently somewhere on that journey of creating a legal function for your organisation, or you are interested in becoming the first GC/Head of Legal/sole counsel of a business, then this is the session for you. Led by Moonbug Entertainment general counsel Karine Ahton, this session explores:

  • Is this for you?
  • Your first 90 days
  • Your first hire
  • Your first budget
  • Structuring your legal department
  • How do you choose your external lawyers?
  • and any other questions you may have!
