Watson Farley & Williams is retaining all of its final-seat trainees as newly-qualified (NQ) solicitors this September.

All 15 qualifiers will take up jobs with the firm on qualification, on permanent contracts.

The energy department will take most NQs, with four. Three will join asset finance, another three will go to corporate, with one apiece beginning careers in litigation, real estate, tax and employment.

The final NQ will join the firm’s Singapore office as a finance associate.

The firm’s graduate recruitment and development manager Lucie Rees said: “We have always been pleased that we have kept on a high percentage of our qualifying trainees over the years, offering a variety of NQ roles across our different practice areas and offices. It is particularly exciting this year that we have been able to offer roles which have been accepted by all 15 of our qualifying trainees.”

Last year the firm kept on 13 of its 14 qualifiers.
