Ward Hadaway takes on accountant trio

Ward Hadaway is launching a multidisciplinary corporate finance practice with the recruitment of three specialist advisers from big accountancy firms

The accountants are the first non-lawyer advisers to join the North East firm.
Paul Duncan and David Brind have joined from Ernst & Young, while Richard Lowry joins from KPMG.
The firm can now integrate legal and accountancy skills for a combined offering for MBOs, MBIs, disposals, acquisitions and fundraisings. The service is aimed at the North East's entrepreneurial and growing business market.
Ward Hadaway corporate finance partner Robert Thompson said: “It has become increasingly difficult for this market to obtain corporate finance advice as the consolidation and refocusing of the region's biggest accountancy firms has, in effect, put their corporate finance services out of reach.”
Duncan added: “E&Y's increasing national focus created the opportunity for the corporate finance team, with its complimentary skillset and strong Ward Hadaway brand, to properly service the North East deals market.”
