Representatives from the Walker Morris Charity Committee attended Alzheimer Society’s ‘Singing for the Brain’ session in Huddersfield last week to celebrate a successful year of fundraising for the charity.  They presented the group with a cheque for £8,715.00.

The funds were raised by the employees of Walker Morris over the last 12 months as the Firm’s nominated ‘Charity of the Year’. The Walker Morris  Charity Committee organised dress down days, cake sales, quiz nights, raffles and even a pumpkin carving competition.  Other fundraising activities included a team of 15 intrepid volunteers taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge to raise money and 30 runners participated in the Abbey Dash 10K race.

The money will be used to support vital local community projects such as Alzheimer’s Society’s fortnightly ‘Singing for the Brain’ service, which provides music therapy for people affected by dementia.
