This week newly-merged Walgreens Boots Alliance has appointed former Alliance Boots legal counsel and chief administrative officer Marco Pagni as executive vice president (VP) and global chief legal and administrative officer of the combined business.
Pagni was appointed group legal counsel and chief administrative officer of Alliance Boots in 2007 and promptly moved to consolidate a panel of around five law firms.
His appointment to the top job follows Walgreen’s £5.6bn buyout of Boots at the end of last year. As the combined company continues its integration, Pagni will be leading the integration of the legal team, and doubtless looking at the company’s advisers.
Those who won roles on the merger – including Allen & Overy, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz – will be hoping that future work will also come their way.
