Vinson & Elkins has announced one of its largest ever promotion rounds in London, with three lawyers being made up.

The US firm has promoted two City lawyers in M&A and capital markets; Federico Fruhbeck and Dan Graham.

Fruhbeck has been a counsel at Vinson since September this year, joining from Simpson Thacher’s capital markets and M&A team. Graham was an associate at Ropes & Gray until 2013.

The firm has also promoted Louise Woods, who specialises in complex commercial litigation. She joined Vinson from Dentons in 2013.

Vinson does not usually promote so many in London, making up just one lawyer last year.

A total of 11 lawyers have been promoted globally. London is the only non-US jurisdiction to have made the cut, although the firm does have seven other international offices outside of the US.

Almost half of those promoted are members of the M&A and capital markets team, while there were three new partners in complex commercial litigation.
