£7,000, as an articled clerk, 1985.

What would you have done if you hadn't become a lawyer?

Soap star in US mini-series.

Which law could you live without?

Most of them (barring environmental laws, which are, of course, most important).

What was your most embarrassing professional moment?

Getting into a cupboard by accident during a meeting.

What car do you drive?

Vauxhall Tigra 1.6i.

Mr Darcy.

Pride & Prejudice; Coronation Street.

Apart from my swimming costume (to audition for the above), my watch.

Bjorn Borg – Winner Loses All, by Lars Skarke; the Kenneth Williams Diaries.

Downtown, by Petula Clark.

What piece of advice would you give to anyone entering the profession now?

Audition for a 'soap' instead.

My striking resemblance to Pamela Anderson.

My 'David Hasselhof' legs.
