Taylor Wessing has poached a real estate partner from French boutique Lefebure to boost its property offering in Paris.

Michaela Robert will join Taylor Wessing’s French office at the end of March as the firm’s ninth Paris partner.

Although Taylor Wessing in Paris has a particularly highly-rated technology, media and telecoms (TMT) practice, it is developing its other areas of work and Robert’s hire will strengthen the firm’s deals-based real estate practice.

Currently partner Olivier de Chazeaux carries out real estate work in Paris, but the practice is predominantly non-transactional .

Paris managing partner Arnaud de Senilhes said: “We are already quite strong on the development side. But we wanted to have somebody focusing on real estate deals.”

Taylor Wessing launched in the French capital in November 2003 with the hire of a 30-lawyer team from PricewaterhouseCoopers ally Landwell & Associés, and has since developed a strong offering across several practice areas.

The hire comes as de Senilhes continues to build the size of his team, which has already doubled in size to 62 fee-earners since its launch.
