Stewarts Law swoops for PwC Legal litigator

Stewarts Law commercial litigation head Clive Zietman said the hire was part of an ongoing recruitment campaign that was kick-started with the hire of Eversheds litigator Jonathan Sinclair last year (The Lawyer, 19 October 2009).

“We’re an attractive home for lawyers because we have a lack of conflicts and are willing to take on the banks,” he added.

Brehony, who focuses on advising corporates on fraud and professional negligence, will join the firm’s London office as a salaried partner.

According to Zietman, PwC Legal has focused its practice on tax-related litigation as it is conflicted out of much mainstream commercial disputes work, prompting Brehony’s move to Stewarts Law.

Zietman joined the firm in May last year along with fellow Manches litigator Andrew Shaw (The Lawyer, 13 April).
