Stephenson Harwood has made up five lawyers to partner in its 2018 promotions round, while an additional three have been named as local partners.

The promotions have been made in the London and Hong Kong offices, with five associates elevated to partner in London. Women account for half of the partnership total, with two in each office.

Kate Cordery joins the commercial litigation team in the City, having been an associate with the firm for seven years. She is joined by Emily Osborne in private wealth.

Ben Sigler also becomes a partner in commercial litigation, alongside Tom Page in corporate and Jonathan Spearing in the firm’s marine and international trade practice.

Out of the five, just Sigler trained at the firm.

An additional three lawyers have been named as local partners in Hong Kong. These are Ian Childs in litigation, Silvia On in private wealth and Ivy Wong in corporate finance.

The firm has six offices across Asia, including in Beijing and Shanghai, and most recently opened an office in Myanmar in 2016.

This week the firm brought a new partner into its real estate team. Catriona Berman joined a team of real estate partners, becoming the second female partner in the team.
